Ernesto "Ernie" Digenova

Ernesto “Ernie” DiGenova passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2017, at Regina Nursing Center in Norristown, PA. He was 86. Mr. DiGenova was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He worked as a finish carpenter for the former Altemose Construction Co. and the Hilton Hotel in King of Prussia, PA. Ernie was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. He is a member of LAM Valley Forge Lodge 1776 Sons of Italy. Born in Montella, Italy on November 26, 1930, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Moscariello) DiGenova. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 56 years, Placida "Maria" DiGenova; two sons, Salvatore DiGenova and his wife, Karen, of Collegeville, PA and Ernesto “Ernie” DiGenova, Jr. and his wife, Frances, of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Susanna Hoetzer of King of Prussia, PA; seven grandchildren: Alex, Julia, Marissa, Mia, Matthew, Katie & Karlie; a brother, Anthony DiGenova and his wife, Maryann, of Skippack, PA; a sister, Clelia Marano of Collegeville, PA; brother-in-law, Mario Figliuolo; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a sister, Caterina Figliuolo. Relatives & friends are invited to Ernie’s Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Bridgeport, PA on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 10:30 am. His viewing will be on Thursday from 9 to 10:20 am, at the church. Entombment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery Mausoleum in E. Norriton, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ernie’s memory to Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.
