Eugene N. 'Gene' Lonchar

Eugene N. "Gene" Lonchar passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. He was 72. Mr. Lonchar was a resident of Swedeland, PA. He worked as a truck driver for the Volpe Truck Company as well as various other trucking companies. Gene was also a talented musician who played with Guy Greco & the 4 Saints and the Allen Reynolds Band. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bridgeport, PA, AMBUC in Montgomery Co. and the Teamsters Local 384. He was a life member of the Swedeland Fire Co., and a member of the Swedesburg and King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Companies. Gene was on the Upper Merion Fire Board and the Montgomery Co. Republican Committee. He enjoyed trains and loved vacationing with family and loved ones.Born in Norristown, PA on May 30, 1942, he was the son of Anna (Guman) Lonchar of Swedeland, PA and the late Nicholas Lonchar. He was the husband of the late Barbara M. (Welsh) Lonchar, who died in 2011. Surviving is his loving family including his mother; three daughters: Denise M. & John McCann of Audubon, PA, Renee L. & Barry Doganieri of Harleysville, PA and Kimberly Ann Lonchar and her companion, Andy Charles of King of Prussia, PA; six grandchildren: Douglas, Stephanie, Nicholas, Emily, Ashley and Christine; four great-grandchildren: Bryanna, Ella Marie, Gianna and Kayden; a sister, Andrea M. Kuneck of Swedeland, PA; a nephew, Michael P. Kuneck of Pottstown, PA; and many other loving family members. Relatives & friends are invited to Gene's Divine Liturgy at SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 519 Union Ave., Bridgeport, PA on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 am. His viewing is Wednesday from 9 to 10:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gene's memory to SS.
