Florence Mary Costello experienced a long and beautiful life. She passed into heavenly peace in the early morning hours of February 19, 2026, at LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown, PA. She was over 100 years old. Born and raised in the Polish Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Louis and Mary Dubeck. It’s here that she learned from them the values of hard work, faith, and the importance of community. Always surrounded by love from both family and friends, Florence lived to see her two boys grow old, her grandkids reach middle age, and great grandchildren grow up into their teens and twenties.

Mrs. Costello was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph Thomas Costello. Their 57 years of marriage was a testament to the power of shared purpose and mutual respect. Together they helped lay the foundations of Our Lady of Fatima parish and the fledgling Nottingham neighborhood in Bensalem, PA.

She is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Joseph “Jay” Costello, Jr. (Joyce) of Chocowinity, NC, and John B. Costello (Donna Lamson) of Douglasville, PA. Her cherished grandchildren Joseph Thomas Costello III, Christine Costello Maraghy, Michael Costello, and Devyn Amanda Costello, all carry a fragment of her gentle wisdom. Florence’s great-grandchildren Nicholas “Cole” Costello, Emma Maraghy, John “Jack” Costello, Molly Maraghy, and Chase Costello all learned the value of kindness and joy from her. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Florence was a beloved sister and aunt, a steadfast friend, and a quiet mentor to countless neighbors. Whether she was attending a church gathering, sharing a slice of her famous red velvet cake, or offering a listening ear at the local senior center, her presence was a comforting constant. That is her lifelong legacy.

Relatives and friends are invited to offer their condolences to the family on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, followed by Florence's funeral mass starting at 11:00 AM, held at St. Ephrem Catholic Church, located at 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
