Florence M. Jenkins, 92, formally a longtime resident of Jenkintown, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 26th, 2020 peacefully, at Ambler Extended Care, in Montgomery County. Florence is survived by her son John and his wife Cynthia and her granddaughter Gabriella. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Albert Jenkins and her son Robert Jenkins. Florence was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 10, 1928, a daughter of the late Florence and Thomas Doyle. She graduated from Rosemont College and later received a master’s in library science from Drexel University. She worked as a librarian first for the city of Philadelphia, then the U.S. Army in Germany. Then after a break she helped establish the school library at St. Katherine of Siena school in Northeast Philadelphia, where she worked until her retirement. Florence assisted with fundraising for the Hemophilia foundation and enjoyed attending the yearly fashion show. She enjoyed travelling also, even in Europe. A memorial service will be held in the next month. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity she championed either the Hemophilia foundation or the Jenkintown Library.
