Florence T. Beecher

Florence T. Beecher passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024 in Norristown, PA at the age of 98. Born in Mathers, PA on May 2, 1925 to the late Helen (nee Vivian) and Alphonso Organtini. Florence is predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis E. Beecher, Sr. and her son, Francis E. Beecher, Jr.

Surviving are her children Pauline A. Grinstead (William) and Robert J. Beecher; sisters: Geraldine Organtini (Armando) and Elizabeth Hansberry; six grandchildren: Michelle Beecher, Jennifer Portela (Juan), Rebecca J. Nagle, Patricia Cutrona

(Mimmo), Dereck Beecher (Jocelyn), and Brandon Beecher; six great-grandchildren: Paulina Portela, Olivia Portela, Carmela Cutrona, Mackenzie Beecher, and twins, Julia and Taylor Beecher; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Affectionately known as Flo or Gram, she was somewhat of a homebody who absolutely loved visitors. All were always welcome anytime of day or night. There were always cookies on the table and a beverage of your choice waiting for you.

Flo loved all of God’s creatures; caring for animals and tending to flowers throughout her entire life. She enjoyed TV shows, bawdy jokes, word search puzzles and would read for hours every night before bed. Although she was a fantastic cook, a cold beer and half of a sandwich was her favorite meal. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family; especially during

holiday dinners which were usually followed by spirited games of bingo afterwards. Flo’s spirit was like none other. She cared deeply for people, always had kind words for anyone she met and accepted everyone as they were. Her spirit lives on in all of us who knew her. Flo will be missed and may she rest in peace enjoying a jelly donut in the sky.

Florence’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10-11:30 AM at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home 101 N. Park Ave. Trooper, PA 19403. Her memorial service will begin at 11:30 AM .

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Florence’s memory to the Brandywine Valley SPCA.
