Francine Maryann Goode

Francine Maryann Janniello Ascione Goode, 85, of Abington, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, May 6th, 2023 while in the company of family, at Edge Hill Nursing Home & Rehabilitation, Glenside.

Francine was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 17, 1937, a daughter of the late Adele (Durante) and Anthony Janniello.

She was a First Grade Teacher for the Freeport Public Schools, in Freeport, Long Island, NY before raising her family. Later, she became the Children’s Librarian at Mattituck-Laurel Library in Mattituck, Long Island for over 10 years and retired in 1999 and moved to Pennsylvania. Fran enjoyed sewing, crocheting and pets. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians in Abington, PA for many years in her later life.

Loving Mother of Dr. Marialisa Lambert (married to David Lambert), Michele Ascione (partner Patrick Young), Christina Murphy (married to James Murphy) and Gian Ascione (married to Brandi Gabriele Ascione). Grandmother to Kathryn Lambert Malizo, Dr. Ian Lambert, Olivia and Adam Ascione D’Elia, Thomas, Timothy and Mary Murphy, Ash and Paisley Ascione. Great-Grandmother to Ori and Emory Malizio. Sibling to Maria Kieszak. She is also survived by nieces and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday May 9, 2023 from 6-8 PM at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home 507 West Ave Jenkintown, PA.  A second viewing will be held Wednesday, May 10th  from 9-9:45 AM and a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, both at Our Lady Help of Christians Church 1500 Marian Rd. in Abington, PA. Her Interment will be at Lawnview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
