Francis A. "Chubby" Coscia

Francis A. “Chubby” Coscia passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was 96.. Chubby was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, both in Bridgeport, PA. He was a retired crane operator for the former Alenwood Steel Company and grounds keeper at the Merion Cricket Club. Chubby was the devoted husband of Rose M. (Ballone) Coscia for 69 years.

Born on December 6, 1926 in Bridgeport, PA, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Nancy (Zaraco) Coscia.

In addition to his wife, Chubby is survived by his son, Salvatore J. Coscia and his wife, Casey of Lansdale, PA; his brother, Gerald Coscia; his sister, Teresa Marinari; his caretaker of 10 years, Tasha Miller; as well as many other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Beth Palonicola; four brothers, Joseph, Anthony, Salvatore, and Alfred; and two sisters, Anna Scandone and Rose Kunda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Chubby’s Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St. Bridgeport, PA 19405. People may call from 9:30-10:20am at the church. Entombment will be at St. Augustine Cemetery in King of Prussia, PA.
