Francis “Frank” J. Spollen passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Spring Mill Senior Living in Phoenixville, PA, surrounded by family. He was 95. Frank was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA and former resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving as an Aviation Electronics Technician, Second Class, and received the WW2 Victory Medal. After serving in the Navy, Frank earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Villanova University and his master’s degree in sciences at Stevens Institute of Technology. Frank worked at General Electric in King of Prussia, PA, for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. Frank loved spending most of his time with his family and friends, especially around the family pool and at the shore. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Villanova basketball, and he loved to read and learn about history.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on September 19, 1928, Frank was a son of the late Michael and Nora (Connelly) Spollen. He was the loving and devoted husband of his late wife Suzanne M. (Sweeney) Spollen for 67 years. They raised seven children together.
Surviving are his loving family including 6 children: Mary T. Skilton, Michael (Laura) Spollen, Francis (Paula) Spollen, John (Sue) Spollen, Kate (Kurt) Hayn, and Daniel Spollen; 17 grandchildren: Stephen (Jaelyn), Brian (Christine), Kevin (Amy), Sean (Rachel), Pete, Brigid (Rick), Jack (Bonny), Timothy (Stephanie), Scott, Francis (Stephanie), Kyle, Kevin (Amanda), Erin (Jamie), Meghan (Liam), Ryan (Julie), Trevor, and Danielle; 14 great-grandchildren: Jane, Thomas, Liam, Jude, Patrick, Archie, Conan, Riley, Sophia, Olivia, Kallie, Paige, Freya, and Remy; and many other loving family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne; his son, Joseph Spollen and Joe’s wife, Suzanne; his daughter-in-law, Deborah Spollen; his son-in-law, Stephen Skilton; and his brother, William Spollen.
Relatives and friends are invited to Frank’s viewing at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 9:30am to 10:45am, with his Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
