It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Francis J. “Frank” Gray Jr., 38 of Newtown PA. Frank passed away unexpectedly after being struck by a vehicle while walking along a road in San Diego, California. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his death.
Frank was born in Huntington Valley PA on October 11, 1987 to Susan (nee Marnien) Lewis and his late father Francis J. Gray Sr.
Frank is survived by his loving mother, Susan (nee Marnien) Lewis and stepfather Thomas Lewis, his beloved sister, Gina and nephew Christian.
Frank is also survived by his Uncle David Marnien and his wife Michelle, three aunts, Theresa Walls her husband Jim, Cindy Salvatore her husband Frank and Billiejean Gray and many cousins and other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Frank grew up in Philadelphia Pa. and was a graduate of Father Judge Catholic High School and received his bachelors degree from Penn State University. He was a proud member and brother of the Chi Phi Fraternity, making lifelong friendships and connections. Even after graduating college Frank’s strong beliefs in the philosophies of the fraternity lead him to stay on and to provide mentorship and recruitment of new members for the Fraternity. This also provided him the opportunity to travel around the country.
Frank was a free spirit. His journey on earth will be marked by being a kind, caring, loving soul. He was uplifting if you needed a friend , a laugh or just a listening ear! He was fun with a great sense of humor. Always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need with a generous heart.
Frank found great joy in being a friend and mentor to his nephew Christian. He enjoyed taking long walks in nature, hunting and fishing with his father and friends. In his younger years he had a passion for being part of a Rugby team and playing golf. His intelligence and endless desire for acquiring new knowledge often found him, immersing himself in researching topics of interest and reading many books. He was always pursuing new opportunities with determination to succeed.
Frank’s passing has left family, friends and many lives he has touched with a deep void in their hearts. He will be loved, cherished and forever remembered for the light he brought to the lives around him. Frank you are truly loved and missed!
