Francis M. Knight

Francis M. “Frank” Knight passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville, PA. He was 80. Mr. Knight was a resident of King of Prussia, PA and received his Bachelor’s Degree from LaSalle College. He worked as a management consultant for Unisys retiring in 1996, and previously worked for Bell Telephone, Mobil Oil Company, and Sun Oil Company. Mr. Knight was a Mason and a member of Community Lodge 744. Frank had a passion for anything related to the railroads, including collecting toy trains and being a member of the Train Collectors Association. In addition to his train collection, he collected other items as well including postcards and coins. In his younger years, he loved to design and build dollhouses. Most of all, Frank was a family man, keeping them in his heart as they kept him in theirs. Born in Philadelphia, PA on March 17, 1937, he was a son of the late Francis E. Knight and Helen (Karsis) Milhausen. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 61 years, June (Strobel) Knight; two daughters, Karen Karas and Susan (W. Lynn) Ziegenfus, both of King of Prussia, PA; three grandchildren: Gwendolyn Karas, Emma Ziegenfus and W. Lynn Ziegenfus, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Martha Karsis and his faithful canine companion, Pepper. Frank’s Funeral Service will be celebrated at Washington Memorial Chapel, Rt. 23 in Valley Forge Park, Valley Forge, PA 19481 on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 10 to 10:50 am. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to Seasons Hospice, 140 Nutt Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
