Francis H. Lutz

Francis H. “Franny” “Fran” Lutz passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Norriton Square Nursing & Rehab in Norristown, PA. He was 61. Fran was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1975. Franny worked as a dump truck driver for himself and other local businesses, and he also worked the scales at Valley Forge Recycling. He was a US Navy veteran, serving at the end of the Vietnam Era. Fran played football for the SSS Club and was a coach and mentor to many in wrestling, baseball and football. He spent years “giving back” to youth sports in Upper Merion and Bridgeport. When he wasn’t coaching, Fran was racing in the sportsman modified class at Grandview Speedway, and acting as Head Crew Chief of the Fran Lutz Racing Team. Most recently, Fran enjoyed being a steady fan for his son, daughters and grandchildren for field hockey, wrestling, baseball, softball, track meets and the orchestra and choir. He had a booming voice that the officials recognized everywhere! Franny was so loved and will be sorely missed. Born in Norristown, PA on November 1, 1956, he was a son of the late Albert and Mary Frances (Taylor) Lutz. Surviving is his loving family including his wife, Freda E. (Laskaris) Lutz; a son, Steven Pearson-Lutz of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; 3 daughters: Kristen (Zach) Shuler of King of Prussia, PA, Kaitlyn Lutz of Bridgeport, PA and Maggie Mae Monster; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca and Kevin Shuler; 3 brothers: Albert, Daniel (Sue), and Paul Lutz; a grand-puppy, Shadow-Princess of Prussia; and many other loving family members. Relatives and friends are invited to Franny’s viewing at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 9 to 10:50 am, with a Service at 11:00 am.
