Francis T. Welsh

Francis T. Welsh, age 84, of Sarasota, FL formerly of Lansdale, PA passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026. He was born on June 17, 1941 to the late Josephine and William J. Welsh.

Beloved husband of the late Jane F. Welsh. Loving father of Michael (Kathy) and Kristen Barrage (Jeff). Devoted grandfather of 3 and dear brother in law to George O’Connell (the late Nora) and Bernadette O’Connell. He is preceded in death by William Welsh, Joann Welsh and Joseph Welsh.

Fran graduated from Monsignor Bonner in 1959. He was a member of St. Joseph University class of 1963 and received a Master of Education degree from West Chester State College in 1976.

He had a love for sports, coached the Hatboro-Horsham High School basketball team and enjoyed arranging an annual “Fran’s Friends” NCAA March Madness bracket group.

Fran had a fondness for touring colleges and universities throughout the United States, American history, musical performances and gardening.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception BVM Church 604 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA. His interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Catholic Church of Philadelphia Newman Centers.
