Frank M. Balogh passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2009 at his residence in King of Prussia, PA, surrounded by his loving family. He was 95.Born in Phoenixville, PA on March 9, 1914, he was the oldest son of the late John and Barbara (Volensky) Balogh. Frank was the husband of the late Jane H. (Kuhna) Balogh who died in 2007. In 1931, Frank worked building camps and fire breaks in the San Bernardino Mountains in California. After moving back to Phoenixville, he played football, softball, basketball, rugby and baseball for local teams, the Community League and the Hungarian Club. Frank then joined the military where he was a US Navy veteran of WWII, serving as a Gunner's Mate 2nd Class from 1942 to 1945 in the Asiatic Theatre aboard the USS Patuxent. He married Jane in 1947. Frank was a policeman in Phoenixville for a short period of time, then went to Temple Engineering School and worked in early television and radio. Frank worked as a Television Engineer for KYW TV in Philadelphia, PA, where he worked on the former Mike Douglas show and was the president of the union, IATSE Local 804 for many years. He was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church in Bridgeport, PA. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed gardening, electronics, recording and most importantly he loved his home and family.Surviving are his loving family including two sons, Mark J. Balogh and his wife, Micheline of Langhorne, PA and Martin F. Balogh of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Marcia J. Balogh of King of Prussia, PA; 5 grandchildren: Stephanie, Laura, Katelyn, John and Nina; a brother, John Balogh and his wife, Virginia of Ormond Beach, FL; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers, Michael Balogh, formerly of Phoenixville and Sam Balogh, who died in infancy.Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 421 Coates St., Bridgeport, PA on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Charles Zloch. Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. His viewing will be Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church.
