Frank Picariello

Frank Picariello passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Markley Rehab & Healthcare Center in Norristown, PA. He was 92. Mr. Picariello was a life-long resident of Bridgeport, PA. He was the owner and operator of Picariello Building & Remodeling for 40 years until his retirement in 1991. Frank was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School, Class of 1948, where he was a stand-out athlete who played football and basketball on their 1948 championship teams. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. Frank was an active CYO coach for both girls and boys for the OLMC School. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving from 1952 to 1956 as a Staff Sergeant. Frank was a member of the Catholic War Vets 25th Chapter, the Knights of Columbus Father Tomko Council #3327, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 840, all in Bridgeport. He enjoyed gardening, Word Search puzzles, going to the casinos, and playing poker, especially his Friday night poker games. Most of all, Frank loved his family and playing with his great-grandchildren. Born in Bridgeport, PA on December 9, 1928, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Maria (Santoro) Picariello; and the husband of the late Susie (LaPenta) Picariello. Surviving is his loving family including three daughters: Susan Ann (Louis) Orsini, Bernadette M. (Mark) Billetta and Loretta F. Ferris; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members. Preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Ferris; and eleven brothers and sisters. Relatives & friends are invited to Frank’s viewing at the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 11 am to 12:30 pm; with his Prayer Service starting at 12:30 pm. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
