Frank Robert Ficca

Frank Robert “Jiggs” Ficca peacefully went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Frank lived a full and wonderful life of 87 years with the love of many family members and life-long friends.

Frank was a long-time resident of Gulph Mills, PA. He was born on March 5, 1937 in Atlas, PA. He was the son of the late Frank and Edith (nee Pizzoli) Ficca, also of Atlas, PA.

Frank's athletic journey began at Mount Carmel High School, where he led his team to victory in the 1954 Eastern Division Football Championship. He then attended Fork Union Military Academy before receiving a football scholarship to Villanova University. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics while making his mark on the field as a running back and defensive back, lettering for three years under Coach Frank Reagan. Frank's dedication to both academics and athletics exemplified his commitment to excellence.

Before his retirement, Frank was a pioneer in the equipment leasing industry, playing a key role in establishing successful leasing divisions for several multinational corporations. After formally retiring, he continued to make an impact as a board member at the Royal Bank of Pennsylvania.

Frank was a lifelong sports fan and a long-time Villanova basketball and football season ticket holder, an avid golfer, enthusiastic skier, reader, and photographer. He delighted in the company, stories and accomplishments of his children, nieces, nephews,1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cousins.

Frank was a parishioner of the Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA.

Frank is survived by his wife, Diane (nee Strike) of Gulph Mills, PA; son, Frank and his wife Robin of Spring City, PA; daughter, Pam of Silver Spring, MD; favorite uncle of 11 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews; and many, many cousins. Frank is pre-deceased by three brothers (Nicholas, David, Joseph) and a sister (Delores).

The funeral mass will take place at the Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406, on October 3, 2024 at 11:00am.

The family extends an invitation for all to join them for a reception following the Mass. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Frank’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
