Obituary

It is with great sadness to announce that on August 17th, Frank Mahlon Vibbert passed away at 82 years old surrounded by loving family members.

Frank was a man who was passionate about making his community a better place. He touched many peoples’ lives along the way through his enthusiasm for service, honesty and giving back.

In his professional community, Frank spent over four decades in Civil Engineering and Geotechnical engineering, with most of this time serving as Branch Manager for Schnabel Foundation Company. He played a significant role in the design of many complex, large-scale construction projects. Through his career, he became recognized as an industry-leader in implementing revolutionary new geotechnical design principles that today have become standard procedures which enable large-scale construction projects to proceed faster, more safely and more cost-effectively.

In his personal community, he enthusiastically gave his time and energy to the congregation of the Lower Providence Presbyterian Church which contributed to making this a loving and caring community for so many families over the years.

Outside the church, Frank also consistently volunteered his time in the Audubon, PA community with a myriad different organizations including Boy Scouts, youth sports, and the Methacton School District.

Frank’s reputation for integrity was unquestioned. His opinion was respected, not only because of his intelligence and experience, but also because you knew you were getting an unselfish, honest opinion that was not affected by popular opinion or what people wanted to hear.

Frank was also an adored father and husband. He wanted nothing more than to make his family happy, and he worked tirelessly every day to do this.

Frank was born on February 16, 1944 in Hagerstown, MD to parents Betty Vibbert and Charles Vibbert. He graduated from Palmyra High School and then studied Civil Engineering at University of Delaware where he graduated in 1967. He received a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from Villanova University.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his children Brian (Beth) Vibbert, Don (Susan) Vibbert, and Jen (Brian) Berbary as well as his grandchildren: Sarah, Mikey, Audrey, Kimmy, and Megan, as well as his brother Bill (Diane) Vibbert. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Vibbert, and his brother Bruce (Faye) Vibbert.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 3050 W. Ridge Pike, Eagleville, PA. Family will receive relatives and friends from 10-10:50AM. Interment will be in Lower Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery immediately following the service.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 3050 W. Ridge Pike, Norristown, PA 19403.
