Frank Wilfong Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, surrounded by his loving family at his daughter's home in King of Prussia, PA. He was 83. Mr. Wilfong, a resident of King of Prussia, PA, worked for Waste Management and then as a self-employed exterminator for the past 20 years. He was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Norristown, PA. Frank was also a member of the Norristown VFW. He was an avid bowler and he enjoyed his mountain home in the Poconos and his home in Florida. Mr. Wilfong was a US Navy veteran of WW II. He served as a Signalman 2nd Class from 1944 to 1946 in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.Born in W. Conshohocken, PA on January 19, 1926, he was the son of the late Walter and Helen (Brunner) Wilfong. Surviving are his loving family including his wife of 62 years, Martha M. (Beyer) Wilfong; a daughter, Martie Licwinko and her husband, Denny Gernert of King of Prussia, PA a son, Frank Wilfong and his wife, Robin of Perkiomenville, PA; 6 grandchildren: Chris, Tammy, Daniel, Amanda, Frank Thomas and Katie; 6 great-grandchildren: Danielle, Nicholas, Stephanie, Olivia, Austin and Madison; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Wilfong and a sister, Eleanor Beck.Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service at Grace Lutheran Church, 506 Haws Ave., Norristown, PA 19401 on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Janice A. Vogt, Pastor.
