Frederick J. Kellner, Jr.

April 12, 1956 — November 12, 2018

Frederick J. Kellner Obituary Frederick J. Kellner Jr., 62, of Warminster, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, PA, where he spent a number of years caring for others as a Respiratory Therapist and a Registered Nurse. Son of the late Frederick and Amelia (Barci) Kellner, Rick will be lovingly remembered by his wife Michele (Barker), their children Steven and Scott, and Steven’s fiancé Jessie Tharp. Rick will also be missed by his extended family, including Raymond and Mamie (Wadsworth) Barker, Thomas and Terry (Barker) McGoldrick, and his many nieces and nephews. Born on April 12, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA, Rick spent his life caring for others. Whether it was protecting his classmates from bullies in the schoolyard at Davis Elementary School in Southampton, PA, attending to hundreds of patients in their times of need over his 30 year career in nursing, or working nights to support his family, Rick quietly gave himself to others without asking for anything in return. Rick graduated from William Tennent High School in Warminster, PA and earned his undergraduate degree from West Chester University. He channeled his eye and love for photography into the university’s student newspaper, The Quad, before working for the Bucks County Intelligencer. Rick also had a passion for teaching, not only in the classroom as a science teacher at William Tennent High School in Warminster, PA, but also whenever he got the chance to pass on his curiosity for the world around him to his sons. Steven and Scott spent their childhood nights with their dad looking up at the stars to spot constellations and meteors. To them, Rick was larger than life, “I’ll ask Dad, he knows everything.” He was an avid sportsman and passed on his love of nature, and the science behind it, to his children. Rick and Michele were married in 1984 at Nativity of Our Lord Church in Warminster, PA. They spent 34 loving years together, during which Rick doted over and took care of Michele, driving her everywhere she went. He was a fighter, and no matter what he faced, he kept his head down and his spirits up, cracking jokes all the way. He will be dearly missed. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, November 17 at 1PM at Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church, located at 220 S. Norristown Road in Warminster, PA, where Rick and Michele found a spiritual home and a supportive group of friends. A memorial service will follow at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church. Services entrusted to Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home and condolences may be made at: www.McGoldrickFH.com
