Frederick Charles Matt

Fred C. Matt of Audubon, PA passed away on May 23, 2026, at his home in Shannondell with loved ones by his side. He was born on January 28th, 1939, to Alice and Frederick Matt of Philadelphia. He graduated from Temple University with a degree in physics in 1971 followed by a master's in mathematics in 1973. He enjoyed teaching his students at Lower Moreland School District for 28 years.

He was very proud of his time in the Navy from 1959 through 1961 and he spoke about the lessons he learned from his service frequently and proudly. He had many hobbies which included woodworking, volunteering at the polls, hiking, kayaking and spending time with friends. Most notable is his love of music! He could sing and was often seen playing his 12-string guitar! He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Matt, his children Diane Matt-Fosnot and Fred J. Matt and several grandchildren.
