Gary G. Hardel

Gary G. Hardel passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at his residence in Wayne, PA. He was 83. Gary received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and had worked as a Computer Systems Analyst for Shared Medical Systems, Siemens, and Imalogix. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Wisconsin Badgers, reading, cooking, grilling, doing puzzles and playing Tetris and Candy Crush.

Born in Milwaukee, WI on March 31, 1942, he was the son of the late Eugene L. and Betty J. (Darling) Hardel. He is preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Hardel.

Gary would have celebrated 60 years of marriage to his wife, Anita L. (Andersen) Hardel on June 19.

Surviving is his loving family in addition to his wife; 2 sons, Barton K. Hardel and his wife, Jody and Darren T. Hardel and his wife, Sandy; a daughter, Darcy Ewalt and her husband, Matthew; his 6 grandchildren: Braden, Logan, Jacob, Lily, Lucy, and Brooklyn who lovingly referred to him as Grumpa; a sister-in-law, Karen Lucas and many other loving family members and friends.

Gary’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 5pm to 7 pm, with his Funeral service starting at 7pm.
