Genaro Albert “Gene” “Pat” Perri passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Jeffersonville, PA. He was 96. Prior to World War II, he worked as a crane operator. When the war broke out, he enlisted and was deployed to the South Pacific. Serving from 1942 to 1945, he received a number of decorations and citations. After discharge, he worked as an accounting clerk for the former Pennsylvania Railroad and he also delivered auto parts from ages 62 to 90. Gene was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Norristown, PA. He was a Sergeant in the US Army serving with D Company, 592nd Division, 2nd Battalion. Born in West Manayunk, PA on December 1, 1920, he was a son of the late Antonio and Carmela (Pirri) Perri. He was the husband of the late Jean H. (Urbano) Perri, who died in 2011. Surviving is his loving family including a daughter, Colette M. Perri of Wayne, NJ; two sons, Gregory J. Perri of Jeffersonville, PA and Brian A. Perri and his wife, Nicola, of Boyertown, PA; four grandchildren: Christopher, Jonathan, Nicolas & Cienna; two great-grandchildren, Darius and Emily Jane; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Gene Perri, who died in 2016; and many brothers and sisters. Relatives & friends are invited to Gene’s Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton St., Norristown PA on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00 am. His viewing is Thursday morning from 10 to 10:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, E. Norriton, PA.
