Geoffrey Alan Magee

November 21, 1955 — March 2, 2019

Geoffrey Alan Magee Geoffrey Alan Magee, 63, passed away Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 peacefully, at Manor Care Nursing Home, in King of Prussia. Geoffrey was born in Huntington, NY on November 21, 1955, a son of the late Joan (Schuller) Magee and James J. Magee. He graduated from Cold Spring Harbor High School in 1973, Binghamton University in 1980 with a Bachelor in Music, University of Miami in 1988 with a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and from Columbia University in 1990 with a Master in Electrical Engineering. He was an Electrical Engineer for almost 30 years, working for AT&T, Datascope, Microsoft and other telecom, medical and consumer electronic companies. Geoffrey was an avid photographer and musician, and a collector of antique cameras, music books, vinyl, rare CD’s, and novels. He spent much of his recent life, while living near Seattle, WA, at the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop and other folk music gatherings surrounded by friends, dancing, and playing music. Geoffrey is survived by his three children, Ceridwen, wife of Terrance Hopely, Kendra, wife of Christopher Whitzell, and Evan Magee & his girlfriend Elizabeth Nicole Wimbish, as well as his wife, Dr. Diane Milhan. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Heather Magee, who will fondly use and distribute Geoff’s instruments and music books so that they may be continued to be treasured. As was his wish, his ashes will be scattered by his family at Bogachiel Peak in Washington state, what he once said was the most beautiful landscape he had ever seen. Relatives and Friends are invited to his viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. and to a Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9th, 2019 both at the Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home at 101 North Park Ave. in Trooper, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions to the charities “Taking Control of Your Diabetes” (https://tcoyd.org), a diabetes education foundation helping people live healthy with their diabetes, or the “American Heart Association” (https://www.heart.org), a research and education foundation responsible for dozens of life saving treatments.
