George A. Steiner, Iii

August 20, 1946 — April 1, 2024

George A. Steiner III, age 77, of N. Wildwood New Jersey passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family on April 1, 2024.

George was born in Norristown, PA, the son of the late George A. Steiner Jr. and Wilda (Herron) Steiner, on August 20, 1946.

He was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School in 1964 and went on to bravely serve his country in Vietnam as a member of the 82nd Airborne, 3rd Brigade.

George was an awarded Sergeant, alongside his brothers from the 174th Assault Helicopter Company, proudly serving as a gunner, paratrooper and member of the infantry. He is remembered for his courage and integrity.

After returning from Vietnam, George followed in his father's footsteps and spent his years working in the roofing industry both as a member of the roofer’s union and later as an independent contractor under the family name. When he fully retired from roofing, he relocated to N. Wildwood, NJ to enjoy his golden years living by the ocean, spending time with his companion, family and friends, and relish in his favorite pastime of fishing.

He is survived by his sister, Sr. Gretchen Steiner of Wilmington, DE and nieces, Kim (Michael) McClellan, Stacey (Rob) Hires, Tina Singleton of Pottstown, Beth (Tom) Molnar of Collegeville, and brother-in-law John J. McNamara of Norristown, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother William A. Steiner, and sisters Liz McNamara and Christine Granese, of Norristown, and his beloved, longtime companion of nearly 30 years, Pamela LaMonica of NJ.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation from 10 am-11am and a Memorial Prayer Service from 11am-12pm at Bacchi Funeral Home, 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on April 27, 2024.
