George Krepto passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2016, at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Philadelphia, PA. He was 77. George was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He graduated from Bridgeport High School, where he played football in 1956. A factory worker in the clothing industry, George was a US Air Force veteran, serving from 1956 to 1960. He was based at Castle Air Force Base, Marcel, California, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and Gunter Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama. George loved playing guitar and his hobbies included music, sports, and photography. He especially enjoyed photographing sites around his hometown including trains and the old roundhouse. He was known for taking long walks along the Schuylkill where he frequently photographed the river and sunsets. He was also an avid Star Wars fan. Born in Bridgeport, PA on September 24, 1938, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Karetzman) Chrepto. Surviving is his loving family including his sister, Sophie A. Tomchick and her husband, Edward, of King of Prussia, PA, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Michael, and four sisters, Mary Kaznica, Elizabeth Matitsh, Anna Krepto, and Julia Chrepto. George’s Panakhyda Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb Street (Route 202), Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SS.
