In a career that spanned 30 years of active and reserve service, he was a flight instructor and held an array of squadron duties culminating in his selection as a Commanding Officer. He retired from the Naval Reserve at the rank of Captain. Years afterward, he wrote a book, Open The Hanger Doors… And the Stories Fly Out, that documented the experiences of Naval Aviators who had to make critical decisions under demanding conditions. After the war, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History at West Chester State College, and later his Masters in Education, along with advanced graduate credits in Counseling, at Temple University. He was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, moral courage, subtle wit, and above all, love and loyalty. His memory will be honored and cherished by all who knew him.
