George W. Lindsay

July 8, 1931 — October 18, 2021

Lindsay George W., age 90, of Doylestown, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2021. George was born in County Fife, Scotland on July 8, 1931 to the late Jane I. (nee Wilson) and William G. Lindsay. He was the beloved husband of the late Marian (nee Sims). Loving and supportive father of Scott and Andrew Lindsay & David and Mark Tarnovski. George is also survived by his sister Agnes and brother Ian of Scotland. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Brian & Katie Lindsay, Teddy, Kelly, Jennifer, Kevin, Matt, and Anna Tarnovski, who affectionately called him “Poppy”. He was always supportive and active in their lives. George grew up in Inverkeithing, Scotland and was enlisted in the Royal Air Force and worked in the paper mill prior to coming to the United States where he settled in the Philadelphia area. He attended Penn State and received an associate degree in electrical engineering. He worked and retired from SPD Technologies in Philadelphia, PA. It was here where he made lifelong friends and considered them his extended family. Those still with us will miss him dearly and fondly called him “Scottie”. He was a fan of the Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Flyers as well as European Soccer leagues. In the early 1980’s he coached youth soccer in Warminster, PA. Services are private at the convenience of the family. Services entrusted to the Walter J. Meyers Funeral Home, Jenkintown, PA. Condolences: www.MeyersFH.com
