George Joseph Lovett, Jr., of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6th, 2023. He was 84 years old.
George was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 16, 1939, the son of the late Mildred (Kreplin) and George Joseph Lovett, Sr.
He was the husband of Janet M. (nee Richards) Lovett.
George was the first graduating class of Father Judge in 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1960 as a radio operator. He then worked at Eaton Yale & Town, Inc. as a production manager and American Meter as a manufacturing supervisor.
George married Janet, his high school sweetheart, on January 24, 1959. They lived in Norfolk, Virginia during his time in the Navy, before returning to Philadelphia to start their family. They lived in Morell Park, where they had their first three children before moving to Bensalem in 1972 and welcoming their fourth child.
George enjoyed golfing and fishing with his family, as well as reading and playing pinochle. He was taught by his uncle how to wallpaper and continued this trade throughout his life. He also enjoyed vacationing in Chincoteague with his wife, but his greatest joy was his annual family vacation to Knoebels.
George is survived by his wife, Janet; four children; Michelle Lynch (Nicholas), Lisa Martin (Stephen), Darin Lovett (Stephanie) and Brian Lovett (Janice). George is also survived by his many grandchildren; Jacquel (Stephen), Nicholas, Stephen (Samantha), Brittany (Dillon), Maria, Tessa, Madelyn, Gabrielle, Mackenzie, Bethany, Jake, Autumn and Bryce and great-grandchildren; Dylan, Marlana, Maddox, Eden, Avianna, Josephine and soon to arrive, Delaney.
George is predeceased by his grandparents, Walter and Ruth Kreplin; parents, Mildred and George Lovett; and brothers, David and Gary.
Relatives and friends are invited to George’s visitation on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at St. Charles Borromeo 1731 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem PA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am.
Interment will be held privately.
