George W. Waterman

George W. Waterman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown, PA. He was 93. Mr. Waterman was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1942 from the University of Maine, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. George worked as an engineer for the former General Electric in King of Prussia, PA for 43 years in the Aerospace Division. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. George volunteered with the Montgomery County Senior Olympics and he enjoyed working in his yard.Mr. Waterman served in the US Army Ordnance Corp during WW II in the European Theatre of Operations. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the US Army Reserve.Born in New Gloucester, Maine on April 16, 1921, he was a son of the late Herbert M. and Thirza R. (McConkey) Waterman. Surviving is his loving family including his beloved wife of 66 years, Dolores B. (Budnick) Waterman; two sons: George W. & Cecile Waterman, III of Gilbertsville, PA and Robert D. & Susanne Waterman of Trooper, PA; a daughter, Michelle A. & John Kerrigan of Wilkes Barre, PA; eight grandchildren: Nathan, Michael, Jaime and Robert Waterman, Alison and Adam (Tasha) Hoover, Daniel Krueger and Devon Brown; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Waterman; two brothers, Robert & Jeanne Waterman and Willard Waterman, both of New Gloucester, Maine; two sisters, Estella McLean of Farmington, Maine and Cathryn & John Olson of Minnesota; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by two sons, David and Mark; and two brothers, Donald and Elbert. Relatives & friends are invited to George's Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:30 am. Officiating will be the Rev. Martin T. Cioppi, Pastor. His viewing will be Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:20 am, at the church. Inurnment will be private in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George's memory to Catholic Charities Appeal, Archdiocese of Philadelphia, 222 N. 17th St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PA.www.bacchifuneralhome.com
