George A White Jr.

George A. White, Jr. George A. White, Jr. age 82 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 21, 2017. Born in Wilmington to the late, George A. and Helen C. (nee Connell) White Sr. George was born on February 8, 1935, in Wilmington, where he graduated from P.S. DuPont H.S. and attended Goldey-Beacom College. He loved being helpful, and offered kindness everywhere he went. He was quick witted, and had a smile for everyone. He loved being a father, and grandfather. Whenever his grandchildren came into town he would make sure there was plenty of ice cream in the freezer. His favorite activities involved being in the sun such as gardening, going to the beach, and being with friends and family. He was a meticulous note taker to remember the details of his life. He loved collecting anything and everything, but especially baseball cards. George will be dearly missed by his wife of 49 years, Rose Marie White; a son, George A. III and his wife, Molly Coffey-Smith; 2 grandchildren, Charlie and Samantha White; sister in law, Rita Bryan; brother in law, Salvatore Schietroma and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at St. Helena Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
