Gerald Lamar Dixon, affectionately known as “Marc,” passed away on April 16, 2026, at the age of 61.

Born on November 15, 1964, in Charleston, South Carolina, Gerald was educated through the Trenton, New Jersey school system and later made his home in Wilmington, Delaware. He was the beloved son of the late Junior Dixon and Rose Ella Dixon, and was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary “Penny” Dixon.

Gerald leaves to cherish his memory his two older brothers, Clayton Dixon and Ronald Dixon, along with a host of family and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

He was the former spouse of Terrie Williams and a devoted father to his daughter, Ore’l Williams-Dixon, and son, Qyreen Williams-Dixon. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Qy’Licia Williams-Dixon, Ma’Qyra Williams-Dixon, Caleb Edwards, Zy’Aire Williams-Dixon and Oren Edwards.

His love for his grandchildren was undeniable. He shared a special bond with his oldest grandson, Caleb, who would ask him a million questions. Gerald embraced those moments with patience, humor, and storytelling, turning simple conversations into lasting memories.

Gerald was known for his vibrant spirit and ability to light up any room. He had a natural gift for storytelling and made friends wherever he went. Despite living with sickle cell disease and enduring great pain, he continued to bring laughter and joy to those around him.

He loved extra spicy food and never backed down from a bold flavor, and he enjoyed dancing—expressing his lively personality and love for music. Whether sharing stories, laughing with loved ones, or enjoying life’s simple pleasures, Gerald lived fully and unapologetically.

He will be remembered for his strength, resilience, love, and the unforgettable energy he brought into the lives of others.
