Gerald Sr. Mccurdy

Gerald McCurdy, Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at the Rittenhouse Pine Center in Norristown, PA. He was 81. Mr. McCurdy was a resident of Conshohocken, PA. He worked as a painter and construction worker for many local contractors in the area. Gerald was a member of the VFW Post 1074 in Conshohocken, PA and was also a life member of the Conshohocken Boccista Club.Mr. McCurdy was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served as a gunner aboard the USS Roosevelt from 1948 to 1952. Born in West Conshohocken, PA on January 5, 1931, he was a son of the late Robert J. and Mary C. (Wilfong) McCurdy. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 56 years, Doris E. (Shaffer) McCurdy; a daughter-in-law, Donna M. McCurdy; a grandson, Michael Sean McCurdy; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald "Jerry" McCurdy, Jr.; a sister, Ella M.
