Geraldine “Jerry” MacMinn (nee Nordon). Aged 100 Jerry was born Yolanda Geraldine Nordon on September 24, 1920 in Glenside, PA. As a child she attended Edge Hill Elementary School, then Thomas Williams Junior High School. Early on she worked at the Edge Hill News and Millili’s Bar and Grille in Glenside, PA. During World War II she worked at Brewster Aeronautical Corporation in Warminster, where many years later in life she would reside in a retirement community built on the site. In 1946 she met her husband William S. MacMinn. They married in 1950. She worked at Philadelphia Electric Company until having her first child in 1952. She and Bill raised their three sons on Mill Road in Upper Moreland Township where she lived for 47 years. Jerry was blessed with 100 years of life, which she shared with her husband and her three sons: William (Kim), Stephen (Donna), and Robert (Fran). While raising her family, she supported her children’s participation in Boy Scouts serving as a Den Mother and in the lady’s auxiliary while sewing countless patches on her sons’ uniforms. She enjoyed bowling in her ladies league and in her later years, traveling. Her travel highlights were a trip to Italy with some of her siblings and two trips to Germany to visit with Bob and Fran while he was stationed there. She also enjoyed traveling with the Golden Age Club and other senior citizens groups. She was a tenacious shopper, constantly hunting for the best price before making any purchase. She served as a volunteer fundraiser for the Deborah Hospital Foundation in Browns Mills, NJ. Jerry was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her family. In 2005 she sold the family home and moved into the Ann’s Choice Retirement Community in Warminster, PA. She enjoyed helping other residents as part of the “helping hands” program. Jerry has 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William (1977) and her son Robert (2015) as well as by her siblings Mary Lou Devito, Annie Riley, Thomas Nordon, Ernestine “Chris” Trois, Nicholas Nordon, Joseph Nordon, Edith Jur, Nellie Mancinelli and Angelina Salicondro. Due to the current pandemic, services will be private. A live stream of the service will be available starting at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020. A live stream of the services at the cemetery will follow approximately 30 minutes after the funeral service concludes.
