Gilbert D. Emel

Gilbert D. Emel passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at his residence in Norristown, PA. He was 85. Gilbert was the co-owner and operator of Emel & Roberts Roofing. He enjoyed cars, target shooting and he was an avid fisherman. Born in Bellefonte, PA on June 17, 1932, he was a son of the late Gilbert C. and Dora (Bathurst) Emel. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of almost 33 years, Sharon (Moffit) Emel; a son, Clark Emel and his wife, Donna, of Norristown, PA; a sister, Betty Lou Caldwell and her husband, Harry D., of Worcester, PA; 8 nephews; and 3 nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers. Gilbert’s Funeral Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 12:00 pm. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 11 to 11:50 am, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
