Giovanna Corcione

January 2, 1932 — June 4, 2024

In loving memory, Giovanna (nee Colavita) Corcione peacefully passed on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of Brandywine Living in Upper Providence Twp., PA, at the age of 92.

She shared 66 years of unwavering devotion with her late husband, Raffaele Corcione, who preceded her in death in 2021.

Giovanna's legacy was one of hard work and love — grit and grace. For years, she was a seamstress, alongside her late husband, embodying the spirit of partnership. Yet, it was in her cherished role as "Nonna" that her heart truly found its home, radiating love and wisdom that knew no limits, leaving an unforgettable mark on her three grandchildren.

Born in the beautiful city of Naples, Italy, on January 2, 1932, she was the eldest daughter of the late Giuseppe and Giovanna Colavita. In pursuit of the "American dream," Giovanna, her late husband, and their daughter embarked on a journey to America in the 1960s. A journey filled with hope for the promising future yet to come, and a longing for the familiar past left behind in Italy.

A mundane and dreaded task for many, weekly grocery shopping, was nothing short of a joyful adventure for Giovanna as she gathered ingredients to create her legendary Sunday dinners. Among her dishes were her famous lasagna, savory eggplant, chicken cutlets, and an array of other Italian treats, each prepared with love and tradition.

Giovanna's spirit lives on through her daughter, Candida A. Corcione of Royersford, PA, and her cherished grandchildren: Sarah Lamnin (Eric Glickman), Abigail Lamnin (Christian Houser), and Phillip Lamnin. Her great-grandchild, Halle Houser, holds a special place in her heart, alongside numerous relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Her life was a testament to perseverance, as she fearlessly tackled any challenge, no matter the size. And her love, as unconditional as it was, imparts the importance of maintaining connections with the people who matter the most.

A heartfelt appreciation is extended to the compassionate team at Brandywine Living, and to Miranda Major, whose kindness brought peace to Giovanna in her final days.
