Hal S. Eaton, Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Woodbridge Place Senior Living in Phoenixville, PA. He was 86. Born on September 30, 1939 in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Margaret (Thompson) and Charles Sargent Eaton. Hal was the husband of the late Nanette Joy (Reckart) Eaton who died in 2020.

He was a U.S. Army Officer retiring after 28 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel. Hal had received many numerous metals including the Purple Heart, Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Metal w/V 1 OLC, Master Parachutist Badge and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm to name a few during his service to his country as a Ranger and serving in the 101st Airborne.

Hal was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach, SC, a Mason and Shriner where he helped bartend and volunteered to drive children for orthopedic surgery at the Shriners Hospital in Greenville, SC. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, baking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and collecting stray animals. Hal was a music aficionado, brass especially and was an officiant for football and track for many years.

Surviving is his loving family including a son, Hal Sargent Eaton, Jr and his wife, Patricia A. Gould; a daughter Lori Kathryn Musselman and her husband, Peter Christian Musselman; 6 grandchildren: Andrew James Musselman, Riley Anne Eaton, Adele Kathryn Eaton, Jacob Charles Musselman, Caroline Jane Musselman and Hal Daniel Eaton; and many other loving family and friends.

A military funeral will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a later date.
