Harold H. Shreckengast, Jr.

Shreckengast, Harold H. Jr, age 91, of Jenkintown, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Doris E. (nee Edwards). Loving father of Harold (Susan), Vincent (Nancy), Anne and the late John. Brother of Marjorie Kriger (William) and the late Charles. Loving grandfather of Kate, Philip (Ngoc), Peter (Phung), Patrick, Julia and Caroline. Great grandfather of Nathan, Walter, Harvey, and Martin. Shreck spent his entire professional career at Price Waterhouse in Philadelphia, and has been a retired partner of the firm since 1987. He was a proud veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy as a radioman on a destroyer in the Pacific. After the war, he attended Lycoming College and later served as Chairman of the school’s Board of Trustees. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by Lycoming in 2000. He was actively involved on both community and professional boards, including serving as President of Junior Achievement, Director of the Citizen’s Crime Commission, President of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and member of the State Board of Accountancy. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, May 25 from 9-10 am at Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046. Funeral mass will follow at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception BVM Church 602 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
