Harry J. "Buddy" Bailey

Harry Joseph “Buddy” Bailey passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at his son’s residence in Gulph Mills, PA. He was 83. Mr. Bailey was previously a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a 1953 graduate of St. James Catholic High School in Chester, PA. Harry worked for 37 years as a US Postal Carrier in the Overbrook and Wynnewood areas, until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bridgeport, PA, the NALC--National Association of Letter Carriers, and the Gulph Road Elementary School PTC. Buddy was also an active member of the Upper Merion Senior Service Center, where he was a member and Executive Director from 1998 to 2007. He enjoyed gardening and was very active in his sons’ youth football, baseball and softball. Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 9, 1935, he was a son of the late Harry J. and Alice (Barger) Bailey. He was the husband of the late Louise D. (Solomon) Bailey, who died in 2015. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Eric J. Bailey of King of Prussia, PA and Marc A. Bailey and his wife, Kim, of Gulph Mills, PA; a grandson, Andrew Joseph Bailey; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Bailey. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings: Audrey (Jimmy) Fields, Catherine (James) Brown, Frida Peterson, Margie Jones, Billy Bailey and Allen Bailey. Harry’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Bridgeport, PA on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives & friends on Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
