Harry J. Blesi passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at his son’s home in Georgia. He was 99. Previously, Harry resided in Bryn Mawr, PA for most of his life and raised his children there. He graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys whose motto was “Pro Deo et Patria” (For God and Country). He started his own Heating and Air Conditioning contracting business in the early 50’s serving the Philadelphia and Suburban areas and successfully managed that business for 30+ years until he retired. Harry was also known for his service to the community. As a devout catholic and parishioner of Our Mother of Good Counsel Church in Bryn Mawr, PA for 60+ years, he was a loyal and hardworking supporter of the Church and School which all 4 of his children attended by organizing and running fundraising events for the school, and then after retirement by giving of his time on a daily basis at early morning Mass by preparing the Altar for the celebration of the Eucharist, tending to pew books, and ushering. Harry was also a member and served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Kenrick Council 2256 in Ardmore, PA. He was also a consistently reliable and fearless volunteer at Bryn Mawr Hospital ER. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and listening to music, but most of all enjoyed playing golf. Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 30, 1920, he was a son of the late William and Sarah M. (Bertolet) Blesi; and the husband of the late Mary F. (Smith) Blesi. Surviving is his loving family including three children: his daughter, Nancy Alspach (and her husband, Mark) of Old Bridge, NJ, his two sons, Harry Blesi, Jr. (and his wife, Shirin) of San Ramon, CA, Stephen Blesi (and his wife, Maria) of Marietta, GA; and 4 grandchildren: Michael, Alexandra, Joseph and Steven; and a stepdaughter, Bonnie Snyder. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Simyak (and her husband, Donald.) Harry's Funeral Mass will be live streamed starting at 10:30 am. Go to https://omgcparish.org to watch.
