Helen M. Barba

Helen M. Barba, 74, of Glenside, PA passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 while in the company of family, at her residence. Helen was born in Abington, PA on July 25, 1945, the youngest child of the late Catherine V. (Quinn) and John Thomas. She was the loving wife of Gerald F. Barba for 52 years. She was a member of Queen of Peace Church & Community. Which she worked as a housekeeper at the rectory for many years. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, going to the beach, time with family, friends and her wonderful grandchildren. Helen is survived by her loving husband Gerald F., daughter, Cherie Barba, son Ed Barba with Tracy (Weil) and son Keith Barba with Nicole (Yerkes) and her 4 grandchildren Brandon, Tori, Kayla & Kaden. Helen is also survived by 3 sisters Kay Spencer, Mary O’Dowd & Marge Canally. She is predeceased by her late brothers Joseph & Arthur and her sisters Elsie Abbott & Elizabeth Mumbauer & step siblings. Private Viewing & service will be held at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home Monday 3/30/2020 from 10-11:30 AM which can be live-streamed by going to the Joseph J. McGoldrick Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/mcgoldrickfh A Funeral Mass & celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abington Health Foundation c/o the hospice program. Her Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
