Helen V. (Heffernan) Burke

Helen V. (Heffernan) Burke passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2012. She was 89. Mrs. Burke was a resident of Sellersville, PA but lived most of her life in Plymouth Meeting, PA. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Plymouth Meeting. Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 12, 1923, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Ellen (McCann) Heffernan. She was the wife of the late Martin L. Burke, who died in 1973. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Lisa A. Burke of Sellersville, PA; two sons, Martin T. Burke and his wife, Sherry Y., of Sellersville, PA and Brian J. Burke and his wife, Lucia A., of Plymouth Meeting, PA; five grandchildren: Jessica, Jacqueline, Emily Kate, Connor and Dylan; a brother, Joseph R. Heffernan and his wife, Joan, of Richardson, TX; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Francis; and two sisters, Rita Boland and Rose Angelozzi. Helen's Funeral Mass will be held at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Rd., Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion Twp., PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
