Helen Hetherington

Helen Elizabeth Hetherington (Butkis), age 92, of Norristown passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Regina Nursing Center, surrounded by her family.  Born in South Philadelphia, PA to the late Adolph and Angeline Butkis.  Her husband, Paul V. Hetherington and brother-in-law, John J. Connell, Jr. also preceded her in death. Helen was a floor manager and seamstress at Infanta Knitting Mills in Fox Chase for over twenty years, making children’s clothing for department stores and children’s boutiques.  She is survived by her daughter, Paulette H. Salamone (Hetherington) of East Norriton; Sister, Rita P. Connell; 2 grandchildren, Marc Salamone (Lisa) and Tara Sheahan (Christopher); 3 great grandchildren, Nicholas Imperial, Gabrielle Salamone, and Ava Salamone. 4 nieces, Maureen Connell, Joan Souchik (David), Carol Bridgens (Edward), and Francine Viden (Robert); 2 nephews, John Connell (Andrea) and Gregory Connell (Stacey); and many great nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones. Mother to all, she will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton Street, Norristown, PA.  A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Francis.  Interment in Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church.  Arrangements entrusted to Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home.
