Helen M. Mardi

Helen M. (Ritrovato) Mardi passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at her home in W. Norriton, PA. She was 94. Mrs. Mardi was a previous resident of Bridgeport, PA and a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Class of 1948. She worked for the Sears & Roebuck Co. and Clover Department Stores. Helen was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. She created many longtime friendships over the years. Helen enjoyed most of all cooking and baking for her family for Sunday dinners and holidays. She was known for her homemade ravioli, pound cake and Italian cream cake. Helen also enjoyed dancing, singing, laying in the warm sun on the beach, feeding the birds, and all animals but especially her cats.

Born in Bridgeport, PA on February 22, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Rosina (Rosa) Ritrovato. Surviving is her loving family including two daughters, Lenora M. (John) Bukata and Rosanne H. Kingkiner; two grandchildren, Kristen Lee (Carl) Neuser and Lisa M. (Joseph) Taraba; two great-grandchildren, Karlee M. Neuser and Joseph John Michael Taraba; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. “JoJo” Mardi Jr.; beloved daughter, Joanne M. Mardi; four brothers: Anthony, Enrico, Francis and Albert; five sisters: Ann Harris, Geraldine Storti, Edith Filandino, Carmella Ritrovato and baby Rachel; and son-in-law, Jeff Kingkiner.

Relatives & friends are invited to Helen’s visitation at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson Street, Bridgeport, PA on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:20 am; with her Funeral Mass starting at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.
