Helen A. (Spitko) Marinelli

October 21, 1925 — April 17, 2015

Helen A. (Spitko) Marinelli passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton, PA. She was 89. Mrs. Marinelli was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. Helen was a former member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA and a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. She worked as a PBX operator for the former Marches Lumber Yard in Bridgeport. Helen worked for Genuardi's Supermarket since the 1970s, being one of the original cashiers when the store opened on Beidler Road and she also got to cut the ribbon on opening day for the new store on Henderson Road. She continued to work for the company even after the merger with Giant Super Markets, retiring when she was 87. Helen loved her family first and foremost and also loved her job where she made many friends with customers and co-workers. She enjoyed watching reality TV shows, especially the Bachelor/ Bachelorette and Dancing with the Stars. Born in Tuscarora, PA on October 21, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Patoray) Spitko. Helen was the wife of the late Wedo B. Marinelli, who died in 1992. Surviving are her loving family including two daughters, Christina "Tina" A. Tholey and her husband, Frank, of King of Prussia, PA and Lorraine M. Sbei and her husband, Al, of Collegeville, PA; 6 grandchildren: Michelle, Audrey, Matthew, Albert, Christopher and Amanda; 8 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Michael Spitko, Jr. and his wife, Virginia and Edward Spitko and his wife, Margie; three sisters: Anna Mae Simmons, Dorothy Camasso and Patricia Palatucci and her husband, Fran; and many nephews, nieces and friends. She is preceded in death by a brother, John Spitko and two sisters, June Brady and Betty Hritz. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Helen's Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion Twp., PA. Her viewing will be Friday morning from 9 to 10:50am, at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen's memory to Einstein Montgomery Hospice, 1330 Powell St., Suite 100, Norristown, PA 19401.Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ld., Bridgeport, PA.www.bacchifuneralhome.com
