Helen Moos, 96, of Elkins Park, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18th, at her residence, surrounded by her beloved family.
Born in Philadelphia on February 24, 1928, to the late Anna (Lawinska) and Edward Chmielewski, Helen grew up during the Great Depression and World War II. She graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1946.
Her Catholic faith was her guidepost in life, just as it was for William F. Moos, whom she married in 1952. Their home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, friends, music and books.
Helen is survived by two sons, Christopher (Louann) and William G. (Mary Kay), her daughter Kathryn Merrick, ten grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, sons Francis and Vincent, and grandson Robert.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Helen's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Dec. 7th, at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Rd. Rydal, PA. Her interment at St. Ignatius Cemetery will be private.
