Helen M. Strickler

Helen M. (Bangert) Strickler, a homemaker, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at her residence in Bridgeport, PA surrounded by her loving family. She was 84. Helen lived most of her life in Bridgeport and was a devoted member of St. Augustine R. C. Church in Bridgeport. She was a life member of the Good Will Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed going to auctions, playing bingo, and occasional trips to the casinos.Born in Bridgeport, PA on July 23, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth (Cameron) Bangert. Helen was the wife of the late Edward T. Strickler who died in 1981.Surviving are her loving family including a daughter, Helen M. Huffman of Norristown, PA; a son, Patrick Bangert and his wife, Rebecca of Katy, TX.; 4 grandchildren: Russell Bangert and his wife, Ashley of Katy TX, Michael Bangert and his wife, Karen of Katy, Gail Huffman of Audubon, PA and Kelly Huffman of Audubon, PA ; 5 great-grandchildren: Kortnie Nieves of Audubon, PA and Bridget, Bradey, Shay, & Layne Bangert of Katy, TX; an ex- son-in-law, Charles Huffman of Blue Bell, PA, 2 sisters: AnnaMae Seponski of Ocala, FL and Margaret Lindeman and her husband, Donald of Norristown, PA; and many nephews and nieces.She is preceded in death by a great grandchild, 3 brothers: Martin, Joseph, and Eugene Bangert; and 2 sisters: Mary Spann and Elizabeth Stanley.Relatives & friends are invited to her funeral from The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Route 202), Bridgeport, PA on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10:20am. Followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Augustine R.C.
