Higinio Maldonado

Higinio (Gene) Maldonado October 12, 1951 – August 9, 2013   Higinio (Gene) Maldonado was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on October 12, 1951.   He moved to Brooklyn, New York at the age of eleven and lived there for most of his life.  Gene worked as night auditor in many hotels in New York and had his own business, Silver Dollar Store in Long Island before he relocated to Audubon, PA in 2005.    He worked as the Accountant Administrative Assistant for the American Baptist Churches USA, International Ministries before his passing.   Gene loved fishing, motorcycle riding and was a true die-hard Phillies fan. He is survived by his wife, Florence Li-Maldonado, daughter Krsytal; three adult children Cynthia Medina-Gaskins , married to Henry Gaskins and their children Henry Jesse (H.J.), Roobi and Quben; Eileen Rodriguez , married to Robert Rodriguez, and Christopher and his wife, Lily Moy-Maldonado.  Gene is also survived by four sisters, Maria Ramona Berrios, Maria Socorro Aponte, Maria L. Maldonado and Gloria Maldonado, and a brother, Edwin Maldonado, and his elderly parents, Higinio Maldonado Sr. and Maria A. Aponte, who live in Puerto Rico.   Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday August 12, 2013  from 7 to 9 pm and from 9 to 10 am Tuesday at the Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, 101 N. Park Ave. Norristown (Rt. 363 Trooper) Pa.  A funeral service will follow at 10 am on Tuesday.  Interment will follow at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens. Viewing: Monday Aug 12 from 7-9 PM and Tuesday, Aug 13 from 9-10 AM Service:  Tuesday 10 AM Interment:  Valley Forge Memorial Gardens
