Howard L. Dehaven, Jr.

September 30, 1943 — July 7, 2014

Howard L. "Howie" DeHaven, Jr., age 70, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at his home in King of Prussia, PA. He worked for the former Alan Wood Steel Company as a pipe fitter, and also for the Montgomery County and Spring Ford School District maintenance department. Howie was a member of the Upper Merion Baptist Church, a life member of Nuss-O'Hara Todd, Ridley Park Rangers and the Reilly Raiders, the Bridgeport Fire Company No. 1 and he was a 32° member of the Masonic Charity Lodge, No. 190. He loved fishing, hunting, golf, baseball and spending time with his family. Born in Norristown, PA, he was a son of the late Howard L. Sr. and Laura (Williamson) DeHaven. Howie was the beloved husband of Charlotte E. (Lacy) DeHaven, to whom he was married for over 52 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Sherry A. Banion and her husband, Steve, of Schwenksville, PA and Victoria M. Costello of Royersford, PA; his siblings, Carl DeHaven of King of Prussia, PA and Doris Grudzien of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren: Melissa Banion, Jamie Banion, Matthew Banion, Alison Costello, and Nicole Costello; a great-grandchild, Jaylynn; and many nieces and nephews. Howard is pre-deceased by his brother, William DeHaven.Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service and celebration of life at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:30 am. His viewing is Saturday from 9 to 10:20 am, at the funeral home. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Howie's memory to the Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, 900 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
