Ida M. (Carfagno) Wanczyk

Ida M. (Carfagno) Wanczyk passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at ManorCare Health Services in King of Prussia, PA. She was 80. Mrs. Wanczyk was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Swedesburg, PA. Ida was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School, Class of 1949. She was an avid bingo player, a Phillies fan and she enjoyed going to the casinos. Born in Norristown, PA on March 9, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Fragale) Carfagno. She was the wife of the late Joseph V. "Zeke" Wanczyk, Sr., who died in 1984. Surviving is her loving family including three sons, Joseph V. Wanczyk, Jr. and his wife, Diana of Bridgeport, PA, John H. Wanczyk and his wife, Selena of Elizabethtown, PA and Steven M. Wanczyk and his wife, Marianne of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Diane M. Pizza of Bridgeport, PA; ten grandchildren: Heather, Dena, Steven, Lauren, Jonathan, Joseph III and Melissa Wanczyk, and Nicholas and Danielle Pizza; three great-grandchildren: Tyler Spack and Brennan and Reed Sullivan; a sister, Rose Hitman of Norristown, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph S. Carfagno.Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Swedesburg, PA 19405 on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Scott D. Brockson. Ida's viewing will be Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:50am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ida's memory to the ALS Association - Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
