Irene M. Toczylowski

Toczylowski, Irene M. (nee Max), 87, of Valley Forge, PA passed away May 5, 2016. She was preceded in death by her Polish immigrant parents, Casimir and Stella Max, her devoted husband of 58 years, Eugene Toczylowski, and her brother Casimir.  Irene attended Nazareth Academy High School and the University of Pennsylvania.  She was a long time volunteer at St. Teresa of Avila Church and School, chaired the church bazaar, and coached CYO Sports. Irene loved cooking, baking, reading and sports (especially the Phillies), summers at the beach, and Christmas. She was artistic, creative, hardworking and self-giving. She is survived by her three children – Linda Whalen (Curtis), Eugene Jr. (Linda), and Diana Roe (Michael) with whom she lived.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was Babcia to Stephanie (Sean Brennan), Amanda, and Jason Whalen, Christopher, Matthew, and Spencer Roe, and step-grandchildren Alex Whalen, Kate, and John (Laura) DiCicco. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Wednesday May 11, 2016  at 10 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd, Norristown, where a viewing will be held from  8:45 to 9:45 A.M.  Her interment will follow at Holy Selpulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to The Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Nat’l. Development Office, 310 N. River Rd. Des Plaines, IL 60016.  Services entrusted to Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home.   Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass  at 10 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd, Norristown, where a viewing will be held from  8:45 to 9:45 A.M.  Her interment will follow at Holy Selpulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
