Irene M. (Iannone) Toews

Irene M. (Iannone) Toews passed away peacefully on Monday, July 23, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at Suburban Woods Health & Rehabilitation in E. Norriton, PA. She was 84. Mrs. Toews was a resident of Eagleville, PA and was formerly of Bridgeport, PA. She worked as a risk manager for the former Peoples Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank, until her retirement in 1989. Irene was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School, Class of 1945. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA, where she was an annual feast worker. She was also a member of the Bridgeport Senior Citizens Group.Born in Bridgeport, PA on October 31, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Basilio and Mary (Modica) Iannone. Surviving is her loving family including a brother, Basil V. Iannone Jr. and his wife, Charlotte, of Eagleville, PA; a nephew, Basil V. Iannone, III; four nieces: Jane McManus, Rosemary Iannone, Mary Lue Tekin and Christina Gervasi; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Iannone of Debary, FL; and six great-nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest V. Iannone.Relatives & friends are invited to Irene's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St. Bridgeport, PA 19406 on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:00 am. Her viewing will be Friday morning from 9 to 9:50 am, at the church.
